The US’s medical industry registered a 9.8% drop in IT hiring activity in August 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 3.81% in August 2022 when compared with July 2022.
Out of the medical industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 7.08% share in August 2022, recording a decrease of 0.57% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in the US’s medical industry’s IT recruitment activity in August 2022
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 96.65% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s medical industry in August 2022.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 49.11% in August 2022, registering a 14.81% decline over the previous month.
2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 13.88% share, a decrease of 3.94% over the previous month.
3) Computer Support Specialists held a share of 13.24%, registering a 1.09% rise from July 2022.
4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 13.02%, up 18.06% over the previous month.
Top five medical companies in the US’s IT recruitment activity in August 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 6.5% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s medical industry during August 2022 over July 2022.
Thermo Fisher Scientific posted 106 IT jobs in August 2022 and registered a drop of 12.4% over the previous month, followed by Medtronic with 85 jobs and a 46.54% drop. Danaher with 77 IT jobs and Laboratoryof America Holdings with 57 jobs, recorded a 108.11% growth and a 29.63% decrease, respectively, while AngioDynamics recorded an increase of 2350% with 49 job postings during August 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in August 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 57.79%, down by 10.67% from July 2022. Mid Level positions with a 23.99% share, registered a decline of 13.14% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with an 18.22% share, up 2.81% over July 2022.
