Blackford and Ligence Medical AI Solutions have joined forces to integrate echocardiography analysis suite Ligence Heart into the Blackford Platform.

This integration empowers clinicians to leverage artificial intelligence (AI) for the analysis of transthoracic echocardiography.

Ligence Heart is a web-based, fully integrated analysis suite, which enables clinicians to carry out automatic analysis of echocardiographic images moments after they are captured.

It replicates the steps performed by a cardiologist and sonographer and carries out analytical steps automatically, enabling significant time saving for each procedure.

After the AI analysis is done, the users can either give their approval or make necessary adjustments.

Ligence co-founder and business development manager Dovydas Matuliauskas said: “Through Blackford, customers are able to seamlessly evaluate and implement new AI tools.

“Ligence is excited to be partnering with Blackford to broaden customer access to Ligence Heart, which is a unique new AI application that automates echocardiography steps, reducing procedure time and standardising reporting.”

Designed to enhance everyday workflow, the Ligence Heart AI Solution is suitable for retrospectively analysing large cohorts.

It offers fully automated morphometric measurements for continuous wave, pulsed wave and tissue doppler.

Other benefits include easy integration with PACS, standardised reporting, automated echocardiography report generation and accuracy of up to 94%.

Blackford CEO Ben Panter said: “Blackford is committed to delivering AI applications that broaden clinical and operational AI use cases and drive additional value for healthcare organisations.”
