GE HealthCare has announced the integration of Caption AI technology with Vscan Air SL wireless handheld ultrasound system, aimed at improving cardiac assessments at the point of care.

This new feature is set to provide clinicians with real-time guidance for capturing diagnostic-quality images and automated ejection fraction estimation, which is crucial for informed clinical decision-making in cardiac settings.

The Caption AI software provides real-time visual guidance and a quality meter to assist users in obtaining optimal images.

Additionally, the AutoEF feature automatically calculates the left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF).

The Vscan Air SL device itself is noted for its portability and imaging capabilities, featuring single-crystal transducer technology that delivers high levels of resolution, depth and sensitivity.
