DFine has received clearance to introduce its StabiliT RadioFrequency Targeted Vertebral Augmentation system throughout Canada and Mexico respectively.

The vertebral augmentation system uses radiofrequency for the treatment of fractured vertebrae.

Kieran Murphy deputy chief of radiology at University Health Network in Toronto, Canada, said that the StabiliT system can target access and cement delivery while sparing valuable cancellous bone in patients who already have compromised bone structure.

DFine CEO Kevin Mosher said the company plans to expand the StabiliT system into the global market, including South America, Asia-Pacific and the Middle East.
