Chinese vascular solutions developer OrbusNeich has introduced its non-compliant scoring balloon, Scoreflex NC to target more resistant lesions.
The Scoreflex NC has been developed as a focused force dual-wire balloon system to enable controlled plaque modification with strength and accuracy.
Its new design allows cardiologists to manage critical cases by enabling the handling of resistant and calcified lesions, while maintaining the lowest crossing profile of any focused force angioplasty device.
The Scoreflex NC features a structure completely composed of metal which enables better pushability with its Tri-Zone Tip for smooth crossing of lesions and a lubricious coating to reduce friction.
Its transit zone offers support to guide the balloon through the lesion.
The device is indicated to be used for lesion preparation, ostial lesions, calcified and fibrotic lesions, long diffuse disease and in-stent restenosis.
OrbusNeich board chairman David Chien said: "Our current Scoreflex offering is one of the fastest growing products in our balloon portfolio and reflects to the need for better lesion preparation.
“The market has requested a non-compliant version of this device so we are proud to be able to meet this demand by engineering a product with many improvements to the original design.
"We anticipate that the Scoreflex NC will become an invaluable device in every cardiologist's toolkit to help tackle the complexities of resistant and calcified lesions".
The introduction of the Scoreflex NC device will add to the company’s current portfolio currently comprising COMBO Dual Therapy Stent, Genous Bio-engineered R stent, Genous Bio-engineered Cobalt Chromium stent , Azule, Blazer, Sapphire, Sapphire II, Sapphire II NC, Sapphire II PRO, Sapphire II PTA, Sapphire NC, Sapphire NC Plus, Sapphire NC PTA, Sapphire PTA, ScoreFlex and ScoreFlex PTA.
