PerkinElmer has introduced the EnVision Nexus multimode plate reader to improve research and discovery workflows as well as expedite drug discovery efforts.

Claimed to be the fastest and most sensitive multimode plate reader to date, EnVision Nexus has been designed for use in demanding applications related to high-throughput screening (HTS).

The EnVision Nexus platform provides researchers with increased assay flexibility through complementary microplates and optimised reagents, including AlphaLISA and HTRF technologies as well as advanced reagent kits, from the company’s drug discovery reagents portfolio.

With its high-throughput dual detectors, the system enables researchers to screen several samples with high accuracy, speed and sensitivity.

EnVision Nexus can also be equipped with a plate stacker for 20 or 50 plates to provide walkaway convenience.

Additionally, it can offer 24/7 workflow-driven automation when completely integrated and automated.

PerkinElmer Life Sciences senior vice-president Alan Fletcher said: “We’re transforming drug discovery, and it all begins in the lab, where researchers can leverage multimode plate reader technology like the EnVision Nexus system to increase R&D productivity at nearly every stage of their process.

“By focusing on workflow simplification and expanded assay capabilities in a state-of-the-art microplate reader, complemented by our optimised reagent technologies, our team has created an all-around high-performing system built for today and the future.”

As well as being easy to install and maintain, EnVision Nexus works across major detection technologies.

A wide range of assays for different applications can be carried out using the system.

Last November, PerkinElmer unveiled its ready-to-use Adeno-associated Virus Vectors (AAV) detection kits to help accelerate gene therapy research.
