Identiv and Novanta have formed a business development and marketing collaboration to enhance the adoption of radio frequency identification (RFID)-enabled solutions for medical device original equipment manufacturers (OEMs).

The initial focus of this strategic collaboration is to market these solutions for OEMs in the medical device and life sciences sectors.

The RFID solutions can be integrated into advanced diagnostics, smart medical devices and wearable devices to enhance the performance of the product, make sure of “proper” assembly, and improve the safety of the patients.

The partnership combines Identiv's RFID tags, labels and inlays with Novanta's APIs and ThingMagic reader modules.

This integration will create end-to-end solutions for access, detection and traceability, offering better performance, stated the company.

The goal is to streamline the development process and product integration for manufacturers of medical devices, ultimately decreasing complexity and expediting time to market.

Novanta supplies core technology solutions that offer a “competitive advantage” to medical, life science and industrial OEMs.
