The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has added Promega‘s Maxwell RSC 48 Instrument and Maxwell RSC Viral Total Nucleic Acid Purification Kit (Maxwell Extraction System) to its Covid-19 diagnostic protocol for emergency use. The Maxwell RSC 48 Instrument and Maxwell RSC Viral Total Nucleic Acid Purification Kit are combined and act as an automated sample preparation solution that can extract RNA and DNA from samples.
DiaCarta has received approval to distribute its QuantiVirus SARS-CoV-2 test in Mexico and India. The Ministry of Health in Mexico via the Institute of Diagnostic and Epidemiological Reference evaluated the test and gave the approval. Following the approval, COFEPRIS, the Mexican Government’s regulatory body has given its authorisation for immediate marketing in Mexico. Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has also evaluated the test which has shown 100% sensitivity and 100% specificity and is cleared for sale in India.
