NOWDiagnostics has received the CE mark approval for the ADEXUSDx Covid-19 antibody test, for use in moderate or complex laboratory settings in the 28 countries of the European Union (EU). The company applied for CE marking mid-last month. ADEXUSDx is a rapid serology, self-contained assay that can detect the SARS-CoV-2 antibodies and provide ‘accurate and reliable’ results in 15 minutes.
India-based Organisation De Scalene has secured approvals from the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the EU for a device that can help contain the spread of coronavirus. The Shycocan- Scalene Hypercharge Corona Canon looks like a small drum and can be fixed in any indoor area for disinfecting surfaces. The company claims it is 99.9% effective in neutralising the Spike-Protein or S-protein present in the virus. However, the device cannot cure an infected person.

Atomo has signed an agreement with Access Bio to supply the company with its unique, integrated rapid diagnostic test devices to Access Bio for use with its rapid test strip for detection of Covid-19 antibodies.The completed products are commercialised under the agreement and will include a Covid-19 rapid antibody test for professionals and another rapid antibody test for self-test use.
QDX HealthID Incorporated, along with its parent company Quantum Materials, has signed an agreement with MIG USA to include MIG’s test kits and those of its affiliates in the QDX HealthID ecosystem. The agreement also permits MIG USA to provide QDX HealthID to those who use the test kits. The QDX HealthID is a SaaS-based platform that permits companies and individuals to check and choose a Covid-19 test kit, verify and record the test results securely.
The US Department of Energy (DOE), Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), and Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) have formed a Covid-19 Insights Partnership. This initiative was formed to coordinate and share health data along with the research and expertise to support the fight against Covid-19. As per the partnership, HHS and VA will be able to use DOE’s high performance computing (HPC) and artificial intelligence resources to carry out research related to Covid-19 and analyse health data.
