9 November

Globally, the total confirmed cases of Covid-19 have reached over 50,500,000 with more than 1,256,000 deaths and 33,036,000 recoveries.

The US have the highest number of confirmed cases at more than 10 million and numbers continue to rise. Illinois is seeing a steep rise in new confirmed cases per day, increasing from 2,164 cases at the start of October to over 14,000 at the start of November.

India is a close second for the highest number of daily confirmed cases but is over the peak and is trending downwards.

Considering India is still performing over a million tests a day, it is likely the decline seen is due to the various public health measures implemented to limit the spread.

The Czech Republic has increased testing numbers significantly in the past month, from over 7,000 on 4 October to over 45,000 by 4 November , and as a result is showing a continuous rise in daily confirmed cases.
