This week’s 2012 Medical Design and Manufacturing West Exposition and Conference is the next stop on the Accumold marketing team’s itinerary.

"MD&M West’s organizers describe it as ‘the most comprehensive resource for every aspect of medical device development.’ It certainly is – and that’s why it’s so important for us to be there," said Paul Runyan, Accumold’s vice president of sales and marketing. "MD&M West draws medical technology professionals and leading medical original equipment manufacturers together to give us immediate, hands-on access to the information, tools, individuals and firms to speed new products to market. It’s an annual – and valuable – event for Accumold and our clients."

The MD&M West event, which is set for 13-16 February this year, has been known as "the trusted resource for what’s next in medical design and manufacturing" for more than 25 years. Its sessions focus attention on the industry’s most challenging issues and promising opportunities in the fields of research and development, design and manufacturing to quality control and regulatory affairs. It follows the marketing team’s showing at the SPIE Photonics West Exposition in San Francisco and the Micro Manufacturing Conference and Exhibits in Boston in late March.

Since its inception in 1985, Accumold’s mission has been the production of super-micro, ultra-precision, plastic injection-molded parts. Parts manufactured by the firm are critical components of the medical, automotive, military, aerospace and telecommunications industries. They can be found in micro-electronics, cell phones, telecommunications, surgical tools, hearing aids, medical devices, antennas, connectors and more. To produce those parts, Accumold builds specialized molding machines engineered to handle volumes from prototypes to millions per year while maintaining consistent, precise tolerances that are unique in the industry.
