The Accumold marketing team will head west for the second time this year for another big event hosted by the Society of Photographic Instrumentation engineers.

Accumold’s first trade show of 2012 was SPIE’s largest annual event: the Photonics West biomedical optic and biophotonics exhibition in San Francisco in January. SPIE moves down the coast to San Diego for its Optics + Photonics conference and exhibition 12-16 August.

"SPIE hosts about 25 top-flight technical forums, exhibitions and educational programs around the world each year. Optics + Photonics ranks among the top five so it’s really considered the cream of the crop," said Paul Runyan, Accumold vice president of sales and marketing. "We’re going to be there because SPIE Optics + Photonics attracts several hundred of the world’s best companies in this sector — and Accumold ranks right up there with the very best."

Focal points of the August event include nanoscience and engineering, solar energy and technology, photonic devices and applications, and optical engineering and applications.

Since its inception in 1985, Accumold’s mission has been the production of super-micro, ultra-precision, plastic injection-molded parts. Parts manufactured by the firm are critical components of the medical, automotive, military, aerospace and telecommunications industries. They can be found in micro-electronics, cell phones, telecommunications, surgical tools, hearing aids, medical devices, antennas, connectors and more. To produce those parts, Accumold builds specialized molding machines engineered to handle volumes from prototypes to millions per year while maintaining consistent, precise tolerances that are unique in the industry.
