Hologic has been granted an Innovative Technology contract from Vizient for its CoolSeal advanced energy portfolio and JustRight 5mm stapler.
The contract follows recommendations from hospital experts on Vizient’s customer-led councils, which assess products for their potential to enhance clinical care, patient safety, and healthcare worker safety.

Vizient contract services senior director Kelly Flaharty said: “Our provider-led council recommended the JustRight 5mm stapler and CoolSeal advanced energy portfolio for this contract based on the efficiencies they offer and their potential to make an incremental difference in healthcare.”
The Hologic’s CoolSeal suite is said to be the only advanced bipolar vessel sealing portfolio in the US indicated for use in pediatric surgery.
It features advanced bipolar radio frequency technology to deliver accurate power for fast, secure seals with minimal thermal spread.

Furthermore, compared to larger devices, the JustRight 5mm stapler also occupies a less visible field in the scope.

Vizient’s diverse customer base includes academic medical centres, pediatric facilities, community hospitals, integrated health delivery networks, and non-acute healthcare providers.
Earlier this year, Hologic obtained US Food and Drug Administration clearance for its new Genius Digital Diagnostics System with the Genius Cervical AI algorithm for cervical cancer screening.
